Calvin started swimming at 3yo and participated in numerous competitions from 2010 to 2014. In 2014, leveraging on his swimming prowess, Calvin graduated to the waterpolo player segment and participated in the Malaysia Invitational Age Group Waterpolo Championships and Malaysia National Age Group Waterpolo Championships
He also honed his cycling skills from a young age.
